About

Mission

To develop and deploy renewable electricity-generating turbine technologies in flowing river waters to address urgent renewable energy needs.

Credo

We will not harm rivers nor the life within them.

We will strive to deploy our technologies in as many of the 190+ countries with flowing rivers as we can over the next twenty years.

We aim to benefit many different cultures and peoples by providing them with 100% renewable energy via the rivers in their own countries

We will raise awareness of the importance and value of water as a source of energy.

We will use natural river resources to generate electricity and fight climate change and its dangerous effects on life on earth – our planet.

We will assist local communities in cleaning rivers from harmful debris plastics at a global level where our Microturbine products are deplored as we expand our market.

Our efforts will never be for financial greed, but to make a positive impact on this world with confidence, integrity, humour, and humility.

Patents

Two new patent application designs have now been fully completed and await formal filing when Microturbine production and sales begin.

The Team

Richard H C Bentall, Founder

Richard H C Bentall studied medicine and went on to become a qualified senior surgeon in 1978. He invented an electromagnetic wound healing dressing in 1974, which was granted 42 patents over the following decade and a half. Richard founded the ‘Institute of Bioelectrical Research’ outside of Edinburgh in 1980, which hugely contributed to this patent surge, before moving his research to the United States in 1986.
Over the following years, Richard took on various advisory roles in the US, including to three White House administrations.
In this past decade, he started researching methods of generating electricity in rivers, ultimately founding Bentall Microturbine Developments Ltd. in Scotland in January 2022, and being granted a UK patent for this new electricity-generating invention.
